Our Mission
The
Healthy Kids & Teens vision is: To help educate, motivate, and
assist America’s youth in living healthier lives. There is a mirage of
information available that addresses the problem of childhood obesity
and its effects on our children’s health. After much discussion with
kids, parents, school administrators, church staff, and others, the
assessment is not that information is not available, but that it is not
available in a simplified format that can be utilized by parents and
kids alike.
Our Approach
Healthy
Kids & Teens has developed a simple tried and true approach for
kids to begin and continue the journey of healthy living. Location,
time, and finances does not allow for every kid and teen to have a one
on one personal fitness trainer and dietician. We
have created our new web-based program to reach as many kids and teens
as possible providing them with the skills and tools derived from these
one on one services. Our approach is a simple “non-diet” food group
approach combined with daily exercise, and daily accountability. We
want kids and teens to learn skills for a lifetime of healthy living.
Diets do not work!
Our Recipe for success can be described in three words:
Knowledge.
We empower kids and teens with the knowledge of how food fuels the body, and why daily food choices and daily exercise are key to meeting their own personal goals. We explore all areas of food consumption in a simplistic approach even an eight year old can understand. Weight loss is a by product of healthy living, and weight management can obtained without fad diets and potions.

Accountability.
We keep
a daily watch on your kid and teen’s food consumption by providing the
My Daily Pyramid Food Dairy. We compare your child’s food consumption
with the recommended USDA daily food recommendations. You will be able
to see immediate deficiencies and where your child is right on the
mark. A My Daily Exercise Dairy is also provided to track daily
activity. Seeing habits in black and white is sometimes all the
motivation that is needed for change.
Parental/Guardian Support .
Parents
and guardians are the Gate Keepers to their children’s health and well
being. We provide parents with the necessary tools to help their
children succeed at healthy living. We encourage parents to join in
with children in developing healthy habits. Creating good family
health habits is a win/win for parents and children.
