About Us

The CampGetFit Foundation seeks to provide underserved school age children with fitness and nutrition programs that will help to instill a commitment to healthy living for a lifetime.  This knowledge can be taken into their communities to positively affect the health and wellbeing of their families, other children, and the entire community. Since 2006 Healthy Kids and Teens has been in existence and thanks to the CampGetFit Foundation has been able to expand its programs to reach hundreds of students in the Memphis community with a healthy lifestyle message.  The Healthy Kids & Teens’ Get Fit and Live Healthy Program reach over 500 elementary, middle and high school students weekly. Our sponsored Get Fit Clubs aid students in sustaining their learned health behaviors, and helps them to motivate fellow students to live healthier, more active lives.

Our Programs

The Foundation primarily supports the Healthy Kids & Teens’ Get Fit and Live Healthy Program offered in the school environment. The program is designed to go to the “natural” environment of children; schools, camps, community centers, churches, and just about anywhere children convene.

We seek to empower kids and teens with the knowledge of how food fuels the body, and why daily food choices and daily exercise are key to meeting their own personal goals. To foster and maintain a healthy mind and body students must learn the basics of eating and selecting healthy food choices, and exercising daily.

The program format includes:

  1. Active participation
  2. Interactive lecture and discussion
  3. Peer Interaction
  4. Family Support

Our Goal

The CampGetFit Foundation is committed to provide funding for fitness and nutrition programs that serve school age youth. Every child deserves to be instilled with the knowledge of how to live a life free from the ravages of childhood obesity.

Fight For Life-The Race To Fight Against Childhood Obesity 2010

Thank you for continuing to fight against childhood obesity!

We did it again!! With your help we had another successful race day on Saturday March 13, 2010. The 2nd Annual Fight For Life-The Race To Fight Against Childhood Obesity held at Shelby Farms Park, Memphis, TN brought in the sunshine although it was cold and had a few drops of rain. We had an awesome time! Students and adults showed strength in numbers to fight this epidemic that threatens our children’s future.   We had 800 to attend the racing event.  We could not have accomplished this success without your support! Our First Lady Michelle Obama would have been proud of our efforts.

We are already on our way preparing for our 3rd Annual Fight For Life Race. It will be March 5, 2011, at Shelby Farms Park, Memphis TN. We value you as one of our important team members in fighting childhood obesity, and we know you will be here once again for our children.

Get Fit Clubs
